The crew arrived in Zone 6: The Mortal Kombat Zone, but this wasn’t like the scary grown-up version—this one was built for galactic kids with serious karate skills.
Instead of lava pits, there were soft foam arenas. Instead of blood, there were glitter explosions. And instead of scary bosses… well, okay, some of the bosses were still pretty scary. Especially the one with four arms and a belly button shaped like a donut.
Alfie tightened the white belt around his karate gi. Three bright stripes glowed proudly on it—each one earned through dedication, focus, and serious karate power:
- 🟩 Green Stripe – for mastering kicks, blocks, and punches
- 🟨+🟩 Green & Yellow Stripe – for learning powerful self-defence
- 🔵 Blue Stripe – for memorising and performing all three katas:
- Shizuki Ich
- Shizuki Ni
- Shizuki San
Today… he was ready.
At the gates of the Tournament of Shadows, a booming voice rang out:
“Only warriors who can face three shadow opponents and complete the Red Belt Challenge may enter!”
The gate opened with a hiss… and out stepped the first challenger.
🌀 Shadow 1: Whirlwind Kickbot
It spun so fast, even the wind got dizzy.
Alfie focused his breathing and whispered the name of his first kata:
“Shizuki Ich.”
BLOCK! STEP! PUNCH!
Kickbot’s attack missed—and Alfie spun, kicked, and dropped into a low stance, finishing with a perfect reverse punch.
The crowd of ninja-bots cheered.
🌀 Shadow 2: Slippery Self-Defence Slime
It threw gooey arms in every direction, trying to grab him.
But Alfie remembered Kata #2:
“Shizuki Ni.”
He pivoted, twisted his hips, and performed a flawless inside block and shoulder escape—launching Slimeface into a jelly-filled bush.
“Nice self-defence!” called Charlie, watching proudly from the stands.
🌀 Shadow 3: Prince Goro
The four-armed tournament champion stomped forward, growling like a grumpy dinosaur who missed breakfast.
Captain Skull Fire stepped in beside Alfie.
“I’ve got this one.”
Goro roared and raised his fists.
Skull Fire grinned, spun around, and—
WHAM!
“Goro’s going home with an ice pack!”
Right in the tournament jewels.
Goro gasped. “No fair…”
Alfie finished the final kata—“Shizuki San”—with a jumping kick so clean it knocked Goro’s belt off.
A siren blared.
The lights turned red.
Confetti exploded from every direction.
🏅 ZONE 6 COMPLETE: RED BELT UNLOCKED 🏅
🎖️ SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT: BALL PUNCH BONUS 🎖️
As the crew celebrated, a giant portal opened. Smoke swirled. Out stepped a hooded figure with glowing eyes and a sharp kunai chain.
It was…
Scorpion.
“Get… over here!!” he roared.
But instead of fighting, he flicked his kunai straight into a punching bag across the arena.
Then he turned to Alfie.
“Nice katas, kid. You’ve earned this.”
He handed Alfie a Red Belt glowing with power.
Charlie whispered, “That belt… it unlocks the next zone. The ultimate crossover.”
“What is it?” asked McDonalds.
Blip Blop beeped dramatically.
Next zone: The Mushroom Kingdom.
