The Black Dragon’s Foot soared toward the Mega Zone, where Bowsernator’s giant airship loomed over a sea of bubbling lava.
From below, the molten waves roared like dragons, and fiery meteors streaked through the ash-filled sky.
Alfie adjusted his red belt and looked at the crew. “This one’s going to be tough.”
The Airship of Doom
When they landed on the deck, the airship shook with Bowsernator’s booming voice:
“If you want the key to the Mega Zone, you’ll have to get through my Lava Gauntlet!”
Metal doors slammed shut.
A huge floating arena rose from the lava—made of moving platforms, swinging fire chains, and massive spiked Thwomps dropping from above.
Blip Blop’s sensors beeped frantically.
“This course has a 99.9% chance of total disaster!”
Help Arrives
Just then, a smaller ship swooped in beside them, painted in neon pink and electric blue.
Two figures leapt onto the deck—both with long, powerful braids glowing with colour.
“Alfie!” Penny called, her bright purple braid swirling like a whip.
“Need a hand?”
“Or maybe two,” Laragh added, spinning her fiery red braid that shimmered like molten lava itself.
Alfie grinned. “Perfect timing. Let’s do this.”
The Lava Gauntlet Challenge
The trio leapt onto the first platform.
Immediately, a fireball whizzed past Alfie’s head.
Stage One: Penny used her braid like a grappling rope to swing them past the swinging fire chains.
Stage Two: Laragh spun her braid so fast it created a fiery shield, blocking the heat from Bowsernator’s flamethrowers.
Stage Three: Alfie called on his kata Shizuki Ni, combining blocks, turns, and strikes to shatter the last set of spiked barriers.
They reached the final section—a massive gap with only one moving platform sliding back and forth above the lava.
“Timing has to be perfect,” Penny warned.
Laragh crouched. “On my signal… JUMP!”
All three launched together, Penny’s braid catching the far edge just as the platform began to move away. With one mighty swing, she hurled Alfie and Laragh to safety—then flipped over herself at the last second.
The Final Boss
The ground shook.
Bowsernator rose from the lava, wearing an armour-plated shell and rocket boosters.
“Impressive… but let’s see you handle this!”
Alfie stepped forward, the Red Belt glowing.
“I don’t need to handle it alone.”
Penny’s braid crackled with purple lightning.
Laragh’s braid burned like the sun.
The three charged together—Alfie using Shizuki San for a perfectly timed jump kick that smashed Bowsernator’s rocket booster.
With a roar, Bowsernator toppled into the lava (don’t worry—kid-friendly rules meant he just respawned at his castle, grumbling).
