Read with excitement… and the occasional dramatic pause… because this is a BIG one.
The portal whooshed shut behind them with a gentle
FWOOMP.
Alfie, Dad, Chimichanga, and Captain Skullfire floated for just a second…
…and then—
BOING!
They landed on soft, springy ground that bounced like a trampoline.
“Whoa!” laughed Alfie.
Chimichanga tried to land heroically.
Instead, he bounced three times, flipped upside down, and landed in a bush.
“I meant to do that,” his voice said from the leaves.
Captain Skullfire smiled.
“Welcome,” he said, “to Skillara.”
All around them rose the most incredible planet Alfie had ever seen:
- Floating dojo platforms drifting in the air
- Rivers that moved sideways
- Targets that zipped around shouting, “Catch me if you can!”
- Bells that rang only if you moved perfectly
“This planet,” Captain Skullfire explained, “doesn’t train strength… or speed… but skill.”
Alfie’s eyes sparkled.
“I’m ready.”
Captain Skullfire raised a glowing blade—not to fight, but to point.
“Lesson one,” he said.
“Balance.”
A narrow path appeared over a glowing mist.
Alfie stepped carefully.
Slow. Focused. Calm.
Behind him, Chimichanga charged forward bravely.
“I GOT THIS—”
SLIP!
SPIN!
PLOP!
Chimichanga fell straight into the mist… then popped back up upside down.
“I am okay!” he announced.
“I think my feet are now ideas.”
Alfie giggled but kept going.
At the end of the path, a bell chimed:
Ding! ✨
Captain Skullfire nodded.
“Good control.”
Lesson two appeared instantly.
🎯 Moving Targets
Shimmering shapes zoomed through the air. Alfie watched carefully… waited… then gently flicked his wrist.
Tap!
Target hit.
“¡Bien hecho!” echoed a voice from nowhere.
Chimichanga tried next.
He threw.
Missed.
The target bonked him instead.
“Target wins,” he sighed.
Captain Skullfire crouched beside Alfie.
“Skill,” he said softly, “is not about being perfect. It’s about practice.”
Suddenly, the ground rumbled.
The sky darkened.
From the mist rose a giant shape made of smoke and sparks.
⚡ THE SKILL SHADOW ⚡
It copied Alfie’s moves—but faster. Sloppier. Louder.
“A test,” said Captain Skullfire. “Not a fight.”
Alfie took a breath.
He didn’t rush.
He didn’t panic.
He moved just right.
The Shadow tried to copy him…
tripped…
and dissolved into glitter.
Chimichanga cheered—then tripped over nothing and face-planted.
“Still brave,” he said proudly.
Captain Skullfire placed a hand on Alfie’s shoulder.
“You passed the first training.”
The planet glowed warmly.
But in the distance… a new signal pulsed.
Three lights.
Familiar.
Calling.
Captain Skullfire looked serious—but excited.
“Skillara was only the beginning,” he said.
“What comes next… is bigger.”
Alfie felt it too.
The adventure was growing.
