The crew of the Black Dragon’s Foot drifted through calm starlanes, their victory over the Shadow Dojo still fresh in their minds. Alfie sat in the mess hall, sipping hot chocolate from a brand-new mug. It had bold letters on the side:
SUPER DAD’S CREW
Next to him, taped proudly to the wall, was a handmade sign:
“SUPER DAD” written in Alfie’s best handwriting, glowing faintly from the ship’s light panels.
Skull Fire peered at it, one flaming brow raised. “What’s this?”
Alfie grinned. “It’s Father’s Day. Back on Earth, we give presents to dads. I gave mine a mug and made him a sign. He’s the best.”
The crew all leaned closer, curious.
“That’s a fine tradition,” said Charlie, polishing his compass.
“I want a Super Crocodile sign!” McDonalds announced.
“I’ll settle for a mug that says ‘Captain of Trouble,’” Skull Fire chuckled.
A Strange Signal
The laughter was cut short by Blip Blop’s alarm. “Warning: distress beacon detected. Coordinates locked.”
The ship veered toward a small asteroid base. As they docked, they found it deserted… except for a single glowing crate.
Inside was a note, written in jagged letters:
“Happy Father’s Day, Captain Skull Fire. From your children of shadow.”
The crew froze.
Then the lights flickered—ninjas burst from the shadows!
The Betrayal
At first, it seemed like another ambush. But as Alfie fought, he noticed something off—Vigo, one of his old school friends who had joined the crew, slipped away quietly toward the cargo bay.
“Vigo!” Alfie shouted. “Where are you going?”
Vigo didn’t answer. Instead, he handed a data chip to one of the Space Ninjas. The ninja bowed and vanished in smoke.
“Did… did he just betray us?” Penny gasped.
Vigo turned back, guilt flickering in his eyes. “I… I didn’t mean to. They said they’d take my family if I didn’t help. I’m sorry…”
Alfie’s stomach twisted. Father’s Day was supposed to be about trust and family, not betrayal.
Emberwing’s voice rumbled faintly in his chest:
“Even betrayal is a test of flame. Forgive, or burn.”
Alfie lowered his Fire Blade. “You’re still part of this crew, Vigo. But from now on—you’ve got to stand with us. Families stick together.”
Super Dad’s Wisdom
Later, back aboard, Skull Fire gathered the crew. He tapped Alfie’s mug and pointed to the glowing sign.
“This,” he said, “isn’t just about fathers. It’s about being the ones who protect, forgive, and guide. Today, Alfie reminded us all that even in the darkest battles—we fight as family.”
Alfie smiled, proud that his Father’s Day gifts carried meaning all the way into space.
The Next Step
The compass glowed again, brighter than ever, pointing toward a star system shaped like dragon wings.
“The last trial,” Charlie whispered. “The final challenge for the Red Dragon Spirit.”
Alfie tightened his belt and raised his mug.
“To dads, dragons, and destiny.”
Everyone clinked their cups together—McDonalds spilling soda all over his inflatable belly.
