The Black Dragon’s Foot shook as the ninja warships surrounded it. Sirens wailed, lights flickered, and everyone scrambled to their stations.
“This is it,” Skull Fire growled. “The battle for Emberwing begins here.”
Alfie tightened his glowing red belt. But inside, he felt a flicker of nervousness. The Shadow Dragon fortress loomed ahead, chained and bristling with dark energy. How could they fight something so massive?
Then Emberwing’s voice echoed softly in Alfie’s heart:
“Do you remember your school… the dance you performed?”
Alfie blinked. “The one from Night at the Museum? When my class danced to ‘Reach for the Stars’?”
The dragon’s voice rumbled like warm thunder.
“Yes. The strength of stars is not only in fighting—it is in joy, unity, and rhythm. Use it now.”
The Memory of the Stage
For a moment, Alfie was back in the school hall. The lights, the crowd, his friends in costume, all of Year 1 moving together as music blasted: Reach for the stars…
He remembered how nervous he’d been—then how he laughed and danced anyway, his feet moving with the rhythm, his classmates cheering. The energy of everyone together had made the performance unstoppable.
Now he understood.
The Dance of the Stars
“Crew!” Alfie shouted over the alarms. “We can’t just fight the ninjas—we have to move together! Like a dance!”
Everyone looked at him like he was crazy.
But Cluckles clucked once, then bobbed his head in time like a DJ.
Charlie’s compass started glowing, pulsing to a rhythm.
Even the Fire and Water Blades shimmered with starry sparks.
Alfie raised his hands. “Follow my lead—reach for the stars!”
He stepped into kata—but this time, each move flowed like a dance.
- Heel Pick → Step Up Kick → Roundhouse in rhythm.
- Penny and Laragh spun their glowing braids in wide arcs like ribbons.
- Eoin blasted in sync, each laser flash like a beat.
- J.J. swung his sword in four sharp strikes, like drum hits.
- Skull Fire stomped to the rhythm, belching fire like fireworks.
- And Cluckles flapped and spun, lightning crackling like cymbals.
The crew’s energy fused into a glowing aura, spreading across the ship like a stage light.
The ninjas faltered. Their shadows rippled. And even the chained Shadow Dragon fortress shuddered, as if the song itself was breaking its bindings.
The Victory
Alfie leapt high, shouting over the rhythm:
“Reach for the stars… AND STRIKE!”
He slammed his Fire and Water Blades together, unleashing a blazing beam of energy shaped like Emberwing himself. The crew’s dance-powered aura poured into the attack.
The ninja ships exploded into sparks, retreating. The Shadow Dragon fortress cracked, its chains weakening.
The crew landed back on the bridge, panting but smiling.
“That…” Skull Fire gasped, “was the strangest battle I’ve ever seen.”
“But it worked,” Alfie grinned. “Thanks to Reach for the Stars.”
Cluckles clucked proudly, striking a finishing pose.
The Warning
Emberwing’s voice rumbled again:
“You have found the rhythm of unity. But beware… even stars can be eclipsed. The ninjas still hold secrets yet to be revealed.”
Alfie looked out at the fractured fortress. “Then we’ll dance, fight, and shine brighter than ever.”
