Through the shimmering Door Before the Universe, the crew of the Black Dragon’s Foot stepped into a place that defied every law of reality.
Time looped.
Colors danced.
Space rippled like jelly.
And at the center stood the Archivore, wielding the power of the First Flavor to rewrite anything he chose.
With a snap of his fingers, he turned stars into rubber ducks, moons into marshmallows, and almost erased the crew’s memories—
But just before things went totally wonky—
“PSSSSHHHHHHT!”
A wild noise echoed across the dream-realm, and out of nowhere, bouncing through a rift in space, came…
An inflatable crocodile.
Green. Glossy. Smiling.
Wearing sunglasses and a pirate bandana.
On his side was written in glittery letters: McDONALDS.
“Hold up!” McDonalds called cheerfully in a deep Aussie accent. “I smelled storytelling nonsense and cosmic danger, so I thought I’d pop in!”
Captain Skull Fire blinked. “You're… an inflatable crocodile.”
“Right you are, mate!” McDonalds said proudly. “I drifted here on a breeze from the Pool Nebula. Heard you needed backup, so I brought my bounciness.”
Nutters gasped. “Do you have powers?”
“Yep,” said McDonalds. “I’m indestructible, can bounce lasers, and float over lava. Also, I give amazing hugs.”
“Welcome to the crew,” Skull Fire said instantly.
The crew regrouped inside a floating pocket of stability. The seven relics hovered in a circle, glowing brighter than ever.
Blip Blop whispered, “The Archivore’s trying to corrupt the recipe. If he succeeds, stories will fall apart. Everything might turn into TV commercials and lost socks.”
“We need to find the true Last Ingredient,” said Elara.
Zorgabella sang a soft note. The relics shimmered and rotated into a new shape.
The sprinkle orb pulsed.
The time truffle spun.
The music box from the potion boy played softly in the background.
And then the relics whispered:
"The Last Ingredient… is Wonder."
The crew stood stunned.
“Wonder?” asked Jinko. “Like… surprise and joy?”
“Like the feeling when you see fireworks for the first time,” said Elara.
“Or when you read your first Harry Potter book and you think maybe magic is real,” added Blip Blop.
McDonalds nodded sagely. “Or when you realise inflatable reptiles can save the universe.”
Captain Skull Fire grinned.
“That’s something the Archivore will never understand. He thinks power means changing the universe. But real power is being amazed by what’s already here.”
They soared to the center of the rewrite storm, the relics forming a glowing shield around the ship. McDonalds bounced off a dark-energy beam and belly-flopped into a memory monster.
Zorgabella sang into the storm.
Elara lit the sky with her gravity rings.
Nutters threw glitterbombs.
And Blip Blop opened the music box.
The Harry Potter theme drifted into the void…
…and everything stopped.
The Archivore froze.
The relics blazed.
And the crew shouted together:
“WONDER!”
BOOOOOOM.
The storm exploded into fireworks made of color and kindness.
The Archivore shrieked, then… melted into a storybook page—folded up and sealed inside the Great Archive.
Peace returned.
The crew floated quietly, exhausted but victorious.
“You know what?” said Skull Fire, looking at McDonalds. “You’re the best inflatable croc I’ve ever met.”
“Cheers, Cap’n,” McDonalds said with a wink. “You lot aren’t so bad yourselves.”
TO BE CONTINUED…
Rest now, brave adventurer.
And remember—wonder is the real magic. 🐊✨📖
