Chapter 10

The Door Before the Universe

Deep within the outer folds of Sector Null, the Black Dragon’s Foot cruised silently through what looked like shattered glass stars. Space shimmered like a memory. Time slowed.

The five relics they had gathered pulsed with energy.

“The First Flavor isn’t just a code,” Blip Blop whispered. “It’s a key.”

Captain Skull Fire stared into the projection.
“What’s behind the door?” he asked.

“A place that existed before time,” said Elara. “A world where stories were born. But the Archivore is ahead of us. If he assembles all seven relics—he could erase the universe and rewrite it however he wants.”

Nutters shivered. “Like… no snacks? No jokes? No squirrels?”

Jinko nodded grimly. “Or… a galaxy with no bedtime stories.”

Everyone gasped.

“We can’t let that happen,” said Skull Fire. “We find the next piece. We reach the door. We end this.”

They arrived at a moon orbiting a black star.
There, on the surface, they found a glowing cave of floating letters and echoing voices.

It was called The Archive of All Moments.

And inside… was a memory.

A memory they didn’t expect.

They stepped into a glowing chamber that shimmered with silver light. Inside was a floating vision—like a dream made of smoke.

They saw…

A young boy.
Wearing pajamas.
In a normal Earth bedroom.

He was giggling like mad… and then…

WHACK!

He punched his dad right in the wibblies. The meatballs. The cosmic crumplers. The space nuts.

“OOOOOF!” the dad groaned, collapsing to the floor in slow motion like a stunned walrus.

The boy laughed.
The vision froze.

And then a voice said gently,

“Sometimes power must be balanced with kindness.”

The boy in the vision looked down at his dad and frowned.

“That… wasn’t very nice,” the voice continued.
“You can be strong. You can be fast. But you must also be gentle. Especially with the people who love you.”

The boy took a breath… then hugged his dad tightly.

The vision faded.
The chamber glowed brighter.

A relic appeared—a glowing heart-shaped prism, floating peacefully.

Elara whispered, “It’s not just about power. It’s about compassion.”

Captain Skull Fire reached out and took the sixth piece.

“That memory was placed here for a reason,” he said. “A reminder. Even the strongest pirates need to know when to be kind.”

Nutters nodded. “Especially to the bits and bobs. No one likes surprise nut-punches.”

Just then, Blip Blop buzzed with alarm.

“The Archivore has reached the final relic. He’s opening the Door Before the Universe.”

Skull Fire turned to the crew, cutlass glowing.
“Then it’s time we opened it too.”
